how everything works
everything below, in plain words.
[what is this?]
$pad is a public launchpad on solana. anyone can launch a coin or trade coins that were launched here. there is no sign-up: you connect your own solana wallet, or use the no-wallet option and send the fee instead. every coin on the feed was launched through this site and is tagged Launched on $PAD.
[launching a coin]
- connect phantom, solflare or backpack — one tap, no sign-up.
- go to launch and fill in the name, ticker, picture and story.
- every coin launches on 💊 pump.fun.
- optionally set a dev buy — the amount of SOL you want to buy of your own coin in the same transaction it launches with. leave it at 0 if you don't want to.
- hit launch, confirm, and your coin appears on the feed. that's it.
[vamp a coin]
on the launch page there's a "vamp a coin" box. paste any solana contract address and hit 🧛 — we pull the name, ticker, picture, story and links from that token and pre-fill the launch form. edit whatever you want, then launch it as your own coin. the original token is never touched.
[trading]
open any coin from the feed to see its chart and trade box. type how much SOL you want to spend (buy) or how many coins you want to sell, set your slippage, hit the button and confirm in your wallet — the transaction goes straight on-chain. we never hold your funds and we never see your private key.
[launching without a wallet]
on the launch page you can switch to the no-wallet option. you fill in the coin details, give us a solana address to receive the coin and the creator fees, and we show you one address to send 0.05 SOL to (plus any first buy and any giving you added). this one is checked and launched by hand, so it is not instant — nothing is created until the SOL arrives.
[transaction safety]
before any transaction reaches your wallet, it gets checked in your browser and refused if anything looks wrong:
- your wallet must be paying. if the transaction spends from a different address, it's blocked.
- spend cap. it can't move more SOL than the amount you typed, plus a small fee allowance.
- no coin handovers. anything that would give another account control of your tokens is rejected.
- dry run. every transaction is simulated on-chain before it is signed, so unexpected spending is caught early.
- clear errors. if it's refused, you get a plain message saying why — nothing is signed silently.
[fees]
platform fee: 0%. you only pay the normal solana network fee and any fee the pool itself charges. every trade on your coin pays the creator a small share, and pump sends it to the wallet that launched the coin — that is fixed when the coin is made and can't be changed later. on the launch page you can also give a set amount of SOL to any address (a charity or your community wallet); it's sent on-chain straight after the launch and saved with your coin. the only extra charge anywhere is the 0.05 SOL service fee if you use the no-wallet option, because we do that launch by hand for you.
exact fee per trade
| pump protocol fee | 0.95% | 0.0095 SOL |
| creator fee (goes to the launch wallet) | 0.05% | 0.0005 SOL |
| solana network cost | — | 0.0002 SOL |
| our platform fee | 0.00% | 0 SOL |
| you pay in total | 1.00% + network | 0.0102 SOL |
rates are pump.fun's own: 1% while the coin is on the pump curve, 0.30% once it graduates to pumpswap. the network cost is an estimate at our fixed priority fee and moves with solana congestion.
[wallets]
connect phantom, solflare or backpack. your private key never leaves your wallet — we never receive it, and nothing is signed without you approving it in your wallet. prefer no wallet at all? use the no-wallet launch option instead.
[backed by turnkey]
our key infrastructure partner is turnkey, a wallet-infrastructure company. what that means here:
- real organization. our turnkey organization id is 7bfd3dd9-569d-4a92-8b73-19cc2119a0b4.
- no keys here. we hold no user private keys at all. you sign in your own wallet, so there is nothing on our side to steal.
- check the wallet owner. the address in your header is your own solana address — look it up on any explorer. the funds sit there, not on our site.
- no accounts, no passwords. there is no sign-up and no password database here to leak.
